The United Kingdom Embassy in Ankara, under the Welfare Fund, has revised the guide we prepared as Lif Energy for the "Diyarbakır Solar Energy Capacity Development Project" carried out in collaboration with the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO). You can download the revised guide from the link. Unlicensed-Solar-Energy-Plant-Development-Guide.V2
The aim of this prepared guide is to increase the level of knowledge regarding the project development process of Solar Energy Plants. The guide highlights three main points: the importance of renewable energy and solar energy plants in mitigating the effects of climate change, the process of developing solar energy plants, and project financing.
The first fundamental point discussed in the guide is the importance and necessity of renewable energy, especially solar energy. In this context, the first section of the guide is dedicated to emphasizing the importance of using renewable energy sources and particularly investments in solar energy plants in mitigating climate change effects.
The second and main section of the guide is allocated to the most problematic issue from the investors' perspective, which is the process of developing solar energy plants. In this section, all the steps to be followed during the development process are explained in detail, supported by visuals. The development process starts with the application step that must be completed first. During the application, there are various documents that must be submitted, which also vary for land type and rooftop type projects. Subsections detail these documents while also addressing the differences arising between land type and rooftop type projects. Additionally, the documents that must be filled out by investors for both land and rooftop type solar energy projects are explained in separate subsections, and examples of these documents can also be found in the annexes of the guide. After the completion of the application process, the second step is the evaluation of applications. In the relevant section, detailed explanations regarding the rules of application evaluations are provided. Following the acceptance of applications, the steps that must be followed by investors are also discussed in other subsections.
The final section of the guide is dedicated to Project Financing. One of the most important points to be discussed regarding project financing is the revenue and expense items. Therefore, a separate subsection has been allocated for this topic in the Project Financing section, and this section is enriched with various examples. Additionally, topics related to bank loans for the project, financing options, and insurance costs are also explained in detail in separate subsections along with examples.
As a result, the overall goal of this guide is to shed light on the issues that potential investors are curious about in the development of solar energy plants, thereby contributing, albeit to a small extent, to the increase in investments to be made in this field.
