Insetting Projects Consultancy
Carbon insetting projects are investments and initiatives conducted by a company within its own value chain to reduce its indirect emissions. They typically include nature-based solutions, renewable energy, and circular economy practices. The difference from offset projects is that the balancing takes place within the company's operational boundaries rather than in an external project. The aim of these projects is to provide both emission reductions or removals within the company and benefits and climate resilience across ecosystems, communities, and the supply chain. While new standards are emerging, the general framework is set by the International Platform for Insetting (IPI), and certification processes are carried out by standards such as Verra, Social Carbon, and Value Change Initiative (VCI).
